Well hello, August! Are you in full-on summer mode, like we are? We’ve been soaking up the sunshine and have enjoyed a July filled with climbing, vacation, birthday celebrations and exciting van progress. And with that, My Month of Urban Art has come to and end. I’ll share the full photo round-up in a few days time.
August Month of HAPPY
This is the month when the West Coast usually shines. The days and nights are warm, and we still get daylight well into the evening. If you’re like us, and enjoy the warm months more than the cold, then I’m sure you’ll find many things that put a smile on your face.
So, I’m dedicating August to my month of HAPPY, and I would absolutely love to see what puts you in a good mood, too! If you’d like to join in, please do (as many or as little photos as you’d like). I’ll post my findings on various social media places – Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, tagging #MyMonthOfHappy and #MyMonthOfAugust.
Here’s to a month of HAPPY!
June has come to an end, and so has my monthly photo challenge. It was my month of EXPLORE and we ventured into neighbourhoods near and far.
So here’s my EXPLORE recap for you.
The June Photo Challenge took me…
… from enjoying the rain to enjoying the sun…
… from exploring new climbing crags to exploring new neighbourhoods of Vancouver…
… from teetering over log bridges to easing over raging rapids…
… from cooking new recipes to trying new restaurants…
… from enjoying new views from bridges and sunroofs and rooftops.
And just like that, we’re into July and a new challenge word! This month is all about URBAN ART and you can check out the details here.
Happy July (a few days early)! I think summer has finally arrived in Vancouver, and we’re absolutely loving the sunshine. June was filled with evenly split with work-work, van-work and climbing-work. The weather was better than most June-uaries, so we made the most of getting out and about. And with that, My Month of Explore has come to and end. I’ll share the full photo round-up in a few days time.
July Month of URBAN ART
Last year, Vancouver hosted a Mural Festival. Numerous buildings around town were covered in large-scale art. We thought it was a fantastic way to showcase local talent and add a bunch of colour to our city. This year, the festival is returning, with another group of buildings getting covered. When I start to actually look at the city, there is so much urban art and culture around, whether it’s a painting or a sculpture or someone’s freedom to express themselves.
I expect there will be quite a few building murals in my month, but I’m going to be on the look-out for all the urban art that catches my eye.
So, I’m dedicating July to my month of URBAN ART, and I would absolutely love to see the artistic gems in your city, too! If you’d like to join in, please do (as many or as little photos as you’d like). I’ll post my findings on various social media places – Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, tagging #MyMonthOfUrbanArt and #MyMonthOfJuly.
Here’s to a month of URBAN ART!
May has come to an end, and so has my monthly photo challenge. It was my month of FROM ABOVE and today I have my downward-gazing recap for you!
In one way, May passed in a blink of an eye. Yet, looking back through the pictures, I find it hard to believe that all of these things happened in May! It’s funny how the perception of time changes. Good thing I have pictures to document it all 😉
So what did My Month Of From Above look like?
The May Photo Challenge took me…
… from cold weather to hot weather…
… from cherry blossoms budding to green leaves exploding…
… from climbing on plastic to climbing on rock…
… from cycling around town to lounging in the sun…
… from lots of good food to lots of good coffee…
… from gazing down at shoes to gazing over mountaintops.
And just like that, we’re into June and a new challenge word! This month is all about EXPLORE and you can check out the details here.
I’m sure I’m not alone here, but the first of every month always seems to come as a surprise. So soon? Yes, so soon. May was filled with work and vacation and general meanderings around town, all the while, checking out the world from above. And with that, my Month of From Above has come to an end. I’ll share the full photo round-up in a few days time.
June Month of EXPLORE
Ah, June – it’s a month filled with birthdays, early sunrises, late sunsets, and excitement for the start of summer. It’s often this time of year when we want to be outside, enjoying all our extra daylight. For this reason, I think this will be a great month to EXPLORE.
Whether you stay put in the city, or enjoy the weekend-warrior activities, or live and breath nature, I’m sure there’s something new for all of us to explore. I’m pretty excited about this word! Perhaps this monthly photo challenge will push us to find new climbing crags, cycle around new-to-us areas in town, or try new food. It’s all fair game, I say 🙂
So, I’m dedicating June to my month of EXPLORE, and I would absolutely love to explore through your camera lens, too! If you’d like to join in, please do (as many or as little photos as you’d like). I’ll post my findings on various social media places – Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, tagging #MyMonthOfExplore and #MyMonthOfJune.
Here’s to a month of EXPLORE!
