Monthly Word: February 2016

One of my goals for 2016 was to find another photo challenge to get excited about. I have taken part in the FMS Photo-A-Day challenge for the past three years, but in the last few months I found my motivation for that project dwindling…

What to do, what to do…

I’ve been thinking about this on my walk to work in the last few weeks, and I came up with the idea of a Monthly Inspiration Word. I would choose one word a month, and use this as a theme to focus my photography on for one month at a time.

The word / theme will be fairly broad and generic, in order to allow me to push my creativity! At least, that’s the hope 🙂 The goal is simply to take pictures, so if I take one picture a day, or a few a week, or any combination thereof, it’s all good, as practice makes perfect.

February can be kind of a dreary month in Vancouver. If you live on the Wet West Coast, there’s a good chance your days will be filled with rain and grey skies. So, what better word to focus on, than the word COLOUR!

If you’d like to join in, feel free – the more the merrier! I’ll be posting on Instagram, Google+, Facebook and Twitter,  and will tag #PictaMonth and #MyMonthOfFebruary.

So here’s to a year of creativity, one month at a time!
