September Photo Challenge |

Monthly Word: September 2016

And just like that, we’re into September! Almost overnight, the weather has cooled and, with the nights drawing in, it feels like autumn is on the way here. My month of MORNINGS has come to an end and, to be honest, I’m going to miss that month’s prompt! It’s been one of my favourites so far, and I’ll share August’s photo round-up in a few days time.

September’s Month of BUILDINGS:

Over the past few weeks, the city has had a mural festival, with different artists painting murals onto different buildings throughout Vancouver. One of the painted buildings was MakerLabs, the space where we’re doing most of the Sprinter conversion work. We pass many of these murals en route to our weekly activities – some are in trendy neighbourhoods and others serve to brighten an otherwise questionable area. Regardless, it brings colour to our city and people love to look at them!

As I’ve been looking out for these murals, I’ve taken note of all the great buildings we have in Vancouver. Some are new and shiny, some need tender-loving care, and most probably hold a story or two within their walls. I’ll be doing a bit of travelling in September and thought this prompt would be a great one to encourage me to explore new towns and cities.

So, I’m dedicating September to my month of Buildings, and it would be great to see the spaces you find interesting! If you’d like to join in, feel free – the more the merrier! I’ll post my findings on various social media places – Instagram, Google+, Facebook and Twitter,  tagging #MyMonthOfSeptember and #MyMonthOfBuildings

Here’s to a month of BUILDINGS!
