About Us

about-Moira-jontyWe are a very active couple in our mid-30’s, living on the Canadian West Coast. We aim to live a simple and mindful lifestyle, which we hope is reflected in this blog, whether it be through our climbing, cycling, travelling or cooking! We try to live our life to the fullest, while we are able to do so, and aim to make every day count. We hope to inspire others to do the same, whatever their passion may be.

In February 2015, we decided to “Test Drive” our version of #vanlife in a rented Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van RV for three months.

In July 2015, we decided we loved that lifestyle so much that we placed an order for an empty Sprinter Van shell, with the intention of up-fitting it into a home-away-from-home van that was more functional than the one we rented.

In April 2016, our empty Sprinter Van, lovingly referred to as Moby, finally arrived! Now begins the epic journey of juggling climbing, eating, cycling, van renovating (which is basically like building a small house from scratch), oh, and our day jobs 🙂

One day, we’ll be living this lifestyle more permanently. For now, we’re soaking up the adventure.

  1. Hi Moira and Jonty,

My name is Kat Smith and I work for One Green Planet. My job is finding vegan recipes from awesome bloggers like you to share with our 6+ million monthly users in order to help spread the word that plant-based eating can be fun and delicious! (I know, it’s a rough gig looking at gorgeous food blogs all day, but someone’s got to do it!)

One of our main goals at One Green Planet is to get people to reduce their meat and dairy consumption because it’s the single most important thing one can do to positively impact the planet today. We do this by posting insightful articles and viral stories across various categories: Earth, Life, Food, Health, Recipes, etc.

I was looking at your blog and was totally blown away by this innovative and fantastic looking recipe you’ve created. We were wondering if you’d be interested in sharing it on our site:

We make the process super easy by doing all the heavy lifting. If you approve, I personally enter the recipe into your OGP account and all you have to do is click on the submit button. Each recipe is run on our site with your bio and headshot prominently displayed underneath it (with a link back to your blog and buttons to all of your social media accounts!) so everyone knows exactly who just made their dinner rock so very hard.

Not only will your recipe be featured on our website, it’ll also be featured on our mobile app, Food Monster — it’s the largest and the most comprehensive vegan recipe app in the world! Users will literally be able to hold your recipe in the palm of their hand as they cook.

With contributors like Emily von Euw, Bryanna Clark Grogan, Annie Oliverio, Rhea Parsons, and many, many others – our thriving recipe section is THE place to be for great food and to help spread the word that creating a more sustainable world starts with changing what is on our plate.

Please let me know if you have any questions! We’d love to include your recipe on our site!

    Best,
    Kat Smith

    1. Hi there!
I’ve never tried using frozen cherries for this ice cream, but I’m quite certain it will work whether you use frozen or fresh. I’ve made other versions of this ice cream with frozen raspberries, and it’s been equally fantastic.
Let me know how it works for you!
      Cheers, Moira
